Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Oct. 29 Edition

Hey Centenary Ladies fans! It is freshmen, Kendall Huff (yes, the third Kendall!), here for my first gym talk ever! We had a great week both inside and outside of practice! You can really see everyone's confidence and determination building up more and more every day!

We started the week off with our Tuesday 6 a.m. practice - full of confidence and determination, pushing each other to be our best. Freshmen Rose Deshler started working double pikes for the first time since coming back from an ankle injury! We are so excited her ankle has continued to improve and she is able to do more and more on it.

After a great regular practice on Wednesday we did something a little different for conditioning on Thursday - we did pool conditioning! The cool pool was a really good way to wake us up for our dark and early conditioning, as we like to call our 6 a.m. workouts. Shout out to the swim team! I don't know how y'all can swim so many laps without stopping!

On Friday we got the wonderful news that both Lacey and Sierra were both cleared to run and start doing small things in the gym again! Their determination to come back stronger than they were before is definitely showing. We also had a "scary" but super fun team event that night!  The team screamed their way through a haunted house which really got our heart rates up! We then ate at Fuddruckers. Yummy! For dessert we were surprised with a nice trip to Cold Stone Creamery for ice-cream! Thank you, Coach Jackie and Mr. Dan, for the wonderful evening!

Over the weekend our confidence kept building at the gym! Kendall Knaps put her Geinger on the real bars and flipped her full twisting entry Yurchenko vault. Kendall Sanders did double layout dismounts off the pit bar onto floor level mats. Kennedy Stephens started connecting her Healy to a straddle back on pit bars, as well. First halves and full routines were also being put together. I love watching how hard everyone is working in the gym! I am so proud of everyone and so excited to see everything coming together! Keep up the great work Ladies!

Don't forget to check back in next week to see how amazing your Ladies are doing!

Love,

Kendall Huff
