Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: February 6 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: February 6 Edition

Hi Centenary Ladies fans! This is your junior Sierra Ponder coming at you with this week's Gym Talk! The Ladies have been getting back into the swing of things after having an amazing weekend competing against Cortland. Shout out to all of the Ladies for having the I got you and you got me mentality, that's what makes a team. Let's keep that same energy!

With only 22 practices left, our assignments this week in the gym have been really focused around being intentional. This means each turn we take is done with a purpose. Along with intent, Coach Jackie has made our assignments more team oriented where we have a daily goal we strive to reach. This is a great way to hold our teammates accountable for the turns we take, and as we add depth to each event, it also helps everyone see where their consistency is. Keep it up Ladies!

Now this is where the fun comes in because the work the Ladies have been putting into the gym has been paying off. Shout out to those vault shakers who have taken it up a notch with twisting vaults and lastly Shout out to all of the Ladies who are adding depth to our events. This competitive energy in practice is something that is going to take us to the next level. In the words of Big Syl we've got to win practice every day and I've been seeing this winning attitude in the gym which will help us going into meets.

Outside of the gym the Ladies have been focusing in on their studies as exams are underway. I applaud the Ladies for doing such a good job at balancing their gym with their academics. Keep up the good work Ladies! Shout out to the Ladies who made the Dean's List last semester. They had their Dean's list dinner on Friday, which is a team tradition every semester as a reward for our hard work in the classroom.  We've got some bright young ladies on this team.

I am excited to see what's in store for us as a team the rest of this season
