Volleyball goes 1-1 On Final Day of Cal Lu Fornia Invitational

Thousand Oaks, Calif. - The Centenary volleyball team went 1-1 on Saturday as it wrapped up play in the 12th Annual Cal Lu Fornia Invitational, hosted by Cal Lutheran, falling 3-1 to Linfield and edging Occidental, 3-2.

The Ladies (2-7) went 1-3 over the weekend in a competitive environment at the Gilbert Arena and the Soiland Recreation Center. In the game one loss to Linfield, five Ladies tallied double digit kills (Ami Powers, Kristian Loving, Marissa Sandoval, Mariah Martinez, and Rachel Demerjian) and Elizabrth Epley had 16 kills. In game two against Occidental, the Ladies again had five players collect at least 10 digs as they earned their second victory of the young season. 

After playing their first nine matches of the season away from home, including one true road match and participating in two tournaments, Centenary welcomes St. Thomas to the Gold Dome on Saturday, Sept. 14 for its home opener in a match set for 5 p.m. Go Ladies! #CTheOpportunity
