Volleyball drops match at LeTourneau

Longview, Texas - The Centenary volleyball team dropped a non-conference match on Tuesday evening to the LeTourneau YellowJackets, 3-0, at the Solheim Arena in Longview. 

The YellowJackets, playing in their home opener, won the first set, 25-19, and then went on a mini run halfway through set two to break a 15-15 tie and win the set, 25-20. LeTourneau won the third set by the same score of 25-20 to sweep the Ladies.

The Ladies (3-8) were seeking their third-straight win after edging the St. Thomas Celts, 3-2, in a five-set thriller on Saturday evening inside a spirited and loud Gold Dome in their home opener, giving first-year head coach Ashley McDonough a victory in her home debut. 

Sophomore Lauren Kelley (Fort Worth, Texas) led the Ladies with 11 kills Tuesday while Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) led the way with 17 digs and Ami Powers (Katy, Texas) and Marissa Sandoval (San Antonio, Texas) each had 15. 

Centenary will be back at home this weekend to host four other conference squads in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Association Group A Divisional Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21. at the Gold Dome and Fitness Center on campus.#CTheOpportunity
