BREVARD, N.C. - Darius Moose has been named the D2 Stud of the Week by BennettRank, a college sports website that focuses on rankings, predictions, and news across all three NCAA divisions.
Moose garnered nearly 40 percent of the fan vote to emerge as the winner in a field of 10 nominees representing Division II schools from across the country. The senior forward scored 32 points, one shy of his career high, in Brevard's 59-56 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on December 7. He knocked down 61.1 percent of his shots on the afternoon and had nine rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and a steal.
In addition to his Stud of the Week honors, Moose was also named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week following his performance at Lenoir-Rhyne.
Moose and the Tornados are coming off a thrilling 69-67 victory over Pfeiffer on Wednesday afternoon that saw the team erase a five-point deficit in the waning minutes. Brevard has won three of its last four games, its best performance in a four-game span since winning four straight games in February 2011.
Brevard will next face Kentucky Wesleyan College in a road matchup on December 31.
