Vote Darius Moose BennettRank?s D2 Stud of the Year

BREVARD, N.C. - Senior forward Darius Moose, named last week to the all-South Atlantic Conference first team by the league's coaches, has been nominated for a national award by prominent college basketball website BennettRank.

Moose is a candidate for BennettRank's D2 Stud of the Year Award for his performance in Brevard's December 7 win over Lenoir-Rhyne that marked the Tornados' first victory of the season. Moose set a season high with 32 points, one shy of matching his career-best mark, and was one rebound from notching a double-double. He was 11-for-18 from the field, had two assists, two blocks, and a steal on the afternoon, and iced the game at the free throw line inside the final 15 seconds.

BennettRank, a website that covers all three divisions of NCAA basketball, holds a weekly online contest with 10 nominees to determine the D2 Stud of the Week. Moose was the recipient of the site's award after the Lenoir-Rhyne win, garnering nearly 40 percent of the fan vote for the week. He was also named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in the victory.

Fans have until 3:00 a.m. the morning of Tuesday, March 17 to cast their votes for Moose, who is competing against 16 other players from Division II schools across the country for the Stud of the Year honors.
