Kirkendoll named SCAC Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Centenary's Travion Kirkendoll was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Kirkendoll averaged 19 points in the Gents outings at the Crowne Plaza Thanksgiving Classic on the campus of Rhodes College. The Campti, La., native posted a season-high 20 points in the outing against No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan surpassing her previous season mark of 18 points in the win against Rhodes. The freshman was 54.5 percent from the field in the Classic including shooting a 60.0 clip from behind the arc over the two days.

Kirkendoll becomes the first Gents player to earn the conference's weekly award this season and is the first since Jonathan Blount garnered the accolade on Feb. 24, 2014. Blount was a four-time recipient during the 2013-14 season.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 2 as the Gents travel to intra-city rival Louisiana State University-Shreveport. Tip is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Dock.
