LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Centenary's Kendall Demouchet was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week by the conference office for his efforts over the weekend. The accolade is the first of his career in the Maroon and White.
Demouchet averaged 27.5 points en route to helping the Gents win their third straight and pull within a half game of conference leader Texas Lutheran in the standings. The Lafayette, La., native capped the weekend with a career-high 33 points in the win over Austin College after scoring a team-best 17 points against the University of Dallas on Friday. The pair of double-digit scoring performances marks 10 this season for Demouchet.
The sophomore averaged 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks during the span. Demouchet finished shooting 58.3 percent from the field and posting a 92.3 clip from the free-throw line.
The weekly laurel marks the fifth of the season for the Gents and the fourth straight following three for James Sapp. Travion Kirkendoll was the first honoree for Centenary this season.
Centenary returns to action on Friday, Jan. 23 as it travels to Trinity University. Tip is slated for 8 p.m.
