Ladies Soccer Claims Fourth Seed in SCAC Tournament

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Announced Sunday afternoon, October 28, following the conclusion of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season, the Centenary Ladies Soccer team (9-5, 6-5 SCAC) claimed the fourth seed for the second consecutive season for the Conference Tournament. The tournament, originally scheduled for Austin College, was moved to San Antonio, Texas, because of the weather this fall.

Centenary will take on fifth-seeded Schreiner Friday, November 2, at 11 a.m. The team that advances takes on Trinity Saturday, November 3, at 11 a.m.

This season, the Ladies beat Schreiner 3-2 in overtime thanks to junior Kyra Montes' hat trick September 9 at Byrd High School. Less than a week later, Centenary beat Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas, on a Montes penalty kick goal in the 90th minute.

Trinity claimed the top seed and the Regular Season Championship, while Southwestern is the two seed. Texas Lutheran is third, while Dallas took the sixth seed.

Last season in Shreveport for the SCAC Tournament, Centenary and fifth-seeded Southwestern fought to a scoreless draw, but the Ladies advanced in a shootout. Centenary fell to Trinity the following day.
