SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary Ladies and Gents Basketball released their 2018-19 schedule Tuesday, September 18. The schedule includes Centenary hosting the third annual Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission Holiday Classic on December 15.
In addition to the home-and-home with the usual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foes in December, January, and February, the conference welcomes its newest member in Johnson & Wales. The Ladies and Gents, who swept the Wildcats in the Gold Dome last year, will take on Johnson & Wales both in Shreveport and Denver.
The Ladies schedule consists of 12 home games and an exhibition at a familiar rival in Northwestern State. They will also play three games against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams, which includes a meeting with East Texas Baptist in Marshall January 12. The Tigers advanced to the Elite Eight a season ago.
The Gents slate also includes 12 home games and exhibitions at familiar rivals Northwestern State (November 6) and Grambling State (December 4). They also host East Texas Baptist for the Holiday Classic, making a return trip to Marshall January 12.
The Ladies will welcome LeTourneau to the Gold Dome for the Holiday Classic.
The Ladies and Gents will face Hardin-Simmons in the Gold Dome on November 10 for Homecoming. On November 15, Pelican State rival Louisiana College visits Shreveport for a doubleheader. The weekend before Thanksgiving, the Ladies and Gents take on Hendrix and Millsaps at the fourth annual Southern Athletic Association/SCAC Classic. The classic will be hosted by Hendrix in Conway, Arkansas.
The Gents close out the month at Arkansas-Monticello (November 24) and at Millsaps (with the Ladies November 27) before hosting Howard Payne (November 29). Hendrix visits the Ladies in the Gold Dome on November 25.
All games featuring a doubleheader will be the Ladies playing first, followed by the Gents approximately two hours later.
The 2019 SCAC Basketball Tournament will be hosted by Texas Lutheran in Seguin, Texas, February 22-24.
