SHREVEPORT, LA. - Head coach Adam Walsh and the Centenary College men's basketball team released the 2015-2016 schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The slate features the Gents hosting the 2016 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament at the Gold Dome February 26-28, 2016, along with two other pre-conference classics.

Centenary participates in two exhibition games against NCAA Division I opponents, traveling north to face off against Little Rock on November 18 before hosting Northwestern State for an in-state showdown in the Gold Dome December 29.

"We are excited for another tough year schedule-wise, but one that we assembled in hopes of preparing ourselves to host the SCAC Tournament at the end of the season," said Walsh. "Expectations for the upcoming season are fueled by our consecutive trips to the conference championship game. After coming up short in both those games, we hope that our experiences and our preparation will push us over the top in our home arena."

Another addition to the pre-conference slate includes hosting the SCAC/SAA Challenge on November 21-22. Along with fellow conference-foe Austin College, the Gents face off against Southern Athletic Association members Millsaps and Hendrix. Other major non-conference tilts include contests against American Southwest Conference (ASC) powers UT-Dallas (November 14) and East Texas Baptist (November 17), and the Centenary Holiday Classic with Howard Payne and UT-Dallas on December 19-20 in Shreveport. Rust College will also participate in the Classic, but will not play the Gents.

The Maroon and White make a return trip to Hendrix on November 24 before traveling McMurry on November 29. The Gents take on Millsaps on December 6 and stay in Jackson, Mississippi, to take on Belhaven December 7.

"We are playing some of the top teams in the ASC, including a pair of teams that have competed for conference titles the last few years," said Walsh. "Two additions to this year's schedule are the inaugural SCAC/SAA Challenge and our four team Classic in December in the Gold Dome."

"The highlight of our schedule for the community will be our home exhibition game against a historical regional rival in Northwestern State," added Walsh.

The 14-game SCAC schedule will feature a pair of contests in Colorado Springs, Colorado, against Colorado College on January 2 and 3. The remaining 12 conference games will feature a home-and-home format. The Gents open their home conference slate against Schreiner on January 8.

Before the SCAC Tournament kicks off in the Gold Dome to finish February, the Gents host Dallas Christian on February 20 for a non-conference game.
