BREVARD, N.C. - Brevard's men's soccer coach Bradley Morrison has brought Kyle Kenney on as the assistant head coach for the 2015 season.

"Kyle comes to Brevard with college playing and coaching experience," Morrison said. "We are excited about the skills and enthusiasm he brings for this program."

Kenney joins the Tornados after a successful year as the head coach of the Cape Fear High School men's varsity soccer team. While under his direction, the Colts tied a school record for most wins in a season with 16 and reached the second round of the NCHSAA 4A State Playoffs for the first time in school history. He also ran the women's varsity team, leading them to a 7-5 record in the Mid-South Conference.

Over his five years as an assistant coach for the Braves, the team posted 42 wins highlighted by a 2012 campaign that saw the team advance to the second round of the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament for the first time in 10 years.

Brevard returns the majority of the 2014 team that went 4-13-1, with five of those losses being decided by one goal. The men's soccer season kicks off in Tigerville, South Carolina, on September 4 when the Tornados take on North Greenville at 7 p.m. Brevard plays its home opener on September 9 versus Southern Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m.
