Kirkendoll Grabs Third SCAC Player of the Week Accolade

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - After an outstanding weekend where he averaged 23 points and 9.5 rebounds a game, sophomore Travion Kirkendoll was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday, February 15.

No player has won this award in the conference than Kirkendoll this season, and no team has more than Centenary's four Player of the Week nods (junior James Sapp, December 14).

In the Gents 89-80 heartbreaking loss to Schriener Friday night, Kirkendoll scored 20 on 8-for-13 shooting (61.5 percent). He also added seven rebounds. In the Maroon and White's 89-74 win at Trinity on Saturday, which clinched the fourth seed for the Gents, Kirkendoll scored 26 points and grabbed a career best 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. He shot 9-for-17 (52.9) for the game.

With a solid weekend on the boards, Kirkendoll now ranks fourth in the SCAC with 7.6 rebounds a game. In conference games only, that number jumps to 8.5 boards per game, second only to Sapp.

Centenary closes out the regular season this weekend, taking on Dallas Christian at 3 p.m. for senior day on Saturday, February 20.
