SHREVEPORT, La. - For the second time this season, the Gents completed a comeback after being down by 15 in the first half. The only difference from the game against Hendrix November 22, 2015 - the Maroon and White erased the deficit before intermission.

The Gents used a 22-4 run to take the lead in the first half and never trailed the rest of the way as Centenary (13-9, 6-6 Southern Collegiate Conference) completed the season sweep of Dallas (10-11, 4-7 SCAC) with an 86-73 win at the Gold Dome Sunday afternoon, February 7.

Junior Kendall Demouchet tallied his third block of the game with 2:08 left to break his own single-season record from his freshman campaign. Demouchet has 53 rejections for the year.

Trailing 21-6 with 12:26 left in the first half, Centenary used a 22-4 in the next eight minutes to take the lead for good. Junior James Sapp hit a deep jumper and senior Justin Cueto nailed a triple. Cueto finished the game with 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting from behind the arc.

Demouchet made a layup before Solomon Beresin split from the line for the Crusaders. Demouchet hit a layup and Dallas' Tom Kaiser hit a pair from the line to keep the deficit at eight, but Centenary took the lead for good on 13-1 spurt. Cueto hit another three, Demouchet made a pair from the line and sophomore Travion Kirkendoll added the layup. Dallas split from the line, but Kirkendoll and Cueto hit back-to-back threes. Kaiser responded with a jumper for Dallas, but freshman Treylan Matthews split from the line and junior Brandon Campbell made a layup. Cueto poked the ball loose and Matthews outran everyone for an old-fashioned three. Kirkendoll pushed the Centenary lead to double-digits with 1:51 left in the half.

Dallas made a three out of halftime to cut the deficit to four. Centenary held a 41-36 lead, when freshman Regis Johnson scored on an offensive rebound and Cueto hit another three to push the lead to double-digits for good. Centenary shot a blazing 55.9 (19-for-34) in the second half and led by double-digits the rest of the way.

Centenary overcame a slow start and finished the game 33-for-69 (47.8 percent) shooting for the game. The Gents also used a sizeable advantage in both fastbreak points (19-2) and points off turnovers (22-8).

Kirkendoll recorded his second double-double this weekend, and his fifth of the season, with 17 points and 11 boards. Demouchet led the Gents in scoring with 21 points and added six rebounds. Sapp came off the bench for 10.

Dallas scored the 11 points of the game, holding Centenary scoreless nearly five minutes to begin the game. Michael Sarrat started the game with a jumper off a Gents turnover. Prince Giadolor added a jumper and Lorenzo Gonzales hit a triple. Gonzales added a layup and two free throws by Sarrat pushed the deficit to double-digits just four minutes into the contest. A Sapp steal and fastbreak layup game Centenary its first points.

An old-fashioned three by Giadolor gave Dallas a 21-6 lead with 12:26 left in the first half.

Sarrat led Dallas with 25 points, while Giadolor added 18 and Gonzales chipped in 11. However, the rest of the roster for the Crusaders only managed 19 points.

Centenary closes out SCAC play next weekend with contests at Schreiner and Trinity.
