BREVARD, N.C. - Brevard's 2016 men's soccer slate has been announced by head coach Shigeyoshi Shinohara.
The Tornados will play 18 matches in 2016, including seven matchups outside of South Atlantic Conference play. Marquee home dates include matches against NCAA Tournament participants Wingate on Homecoming weekend and against fellow postseason participant and the Tornados' 2015 SAC Championship quarterfinal opponent on Senior Day.
Brevard will play three exhibitions and scrimmages before opening the regular season with five consecutive matches away from home, including a neutral-site match with UNC Pembroke, the league opener at Lincoln Memorial, and two matchups against future USA South Conference opponents Huntingdon and Ferrum.
The home opener comes on Saturday, Sept. 17 against Coker and opens a four-match stretch that includes three home dates. Three straight home matches in late October precede the final competition of the regular season at Queens on Oct. 29.
