Wall selected for Lees-McRae head coaching position

BREVARD, N.C. - Brevard men's soccer assistant coach Rich Wall has been selected to become the next head coach at Lees-McRae College, an NCAA Division II institution in nearby Banner Elk.

"Lees-McRae presented me with a tremendous opportunity to advance my career and become part of a rich soccer tradition," said Wall. "I'd like to thank Juan Mascaro and Bradley Morrison for the opportunity to work at Brevard for the past year and allow me to gain experience that was critical for my growth as a coach. I wish the best of luck to Brevard's soccer program and entire athletic family."

Wall joined the Tornados' coaching staff in August of 2014 and spent one year with the program. In addition to assisting head coach Bradley Morrison, Wall assumed head coaching duties of Brevard's first-ever reserves team.

"Richie came in and did a commendable job for us at Brevard and I'm excited about his future at Lees-McRae," said Morrison.

Wall came to Brevard with extensive playing and coaching experience. After beginning his playing career at South Atlantic Conference rival Wingate, Wall transferred to Division I Gardner-Webb, appearing in 70 career matches between the two schools. He spent a year coaching at both Gardner-Webb University and Belmont Abbey College and spent time with several youth leagues around North Carolina. He has also spent a summer on staff with the New York Red Bulls. Most recently, Wall has served as the head coach of the West Virginia Chaos, a Premier Development League team based in Charleston, West Virginia.
