McPhillips and Turner earn Honorable Mention All-Conference honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference announced the 2015 men's and women's soccer All-Conference teams, voted on by the conference coaches. Brevard's successful season did not go unnoticed, as juniors Ryan McPhillips and Heath Turner both earned Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades.

McPhillips is collecting his second All-Conference honors with his first coming in his freshman campaign, making him the most decorated player since Brevard joined the SAC in 2008. This season, the Glasgow, Scotland native became the second Tornados player to reach 20 career points, surpassing that by the end of the season to become the NCAA era leader with 24. He is the first player to record multiple seasons of double digit points while wearing the royal blue and white with 10 in 2015 coming from four goals and two assists. His 10 career goals ties graduating senior Andrew Gallowitch for most in the NCAA era.

Turner was the catalyst of the defense, which was one of the best in the conference this season, ranking in the top half of the conference in every goalkeeper category. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Kansas City, Mo. Product had a goal allowed average of 1.17 with four shutouts, both NCAA era records for Brevard. His .809 save percentage was the top in the conference and ranked 27th in Division II.

The two honorees is a program record for Brevard, and the third-straight year that the Tornados have had representation on the All-Conference list.

Brevard ended the season on Tuesday in the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship quarterfinals, the first time since the 2010 season and second time overall the team advanced to the postseason. Brevard finished with a 5-10-2 record overall and 4-5-2 in the SAC, a program record for most SAC wins in a season.
