Brevard picked to finish 12th in conference preseason poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference announced the 2015 men's soccer preseason poll on Tuesday, August 25, with the conference coaches predicting a 12th place finish for Brevard this season.

Wingate, who was ranked 22nd in the national preseason poll, were voted the favorites to repeat as regular season champions with 10 first place votes and 131 overall points. Carson-Newman came in second with 109 points followed by Mars Hill who received 106 points. Reigning SAC tournament champions Tusculum got the other two first place nods and 98 overall points while Lincoln Memorial rounded out the top five with 94 points.

In 2014, the Tornados posted the third-most wins since Brevard transitioned into the NCAA ranks with a 4-13-1 mark. The squad had success offensively, dishing out the second-most assists as a unit during the NCAA era with 14.

Brevard kicks off the 2015 season in Tigerville, South Carolina on September 3 when they take on North Greenville at 7 p.m. Conference play begins for the Tornados on September 16 with a home bout with Lincoln Memorial, set to start at 4:30 p.m.
