Scouting Texas Lutheran

The Bulldogs enter the game Friday night looking to rebound from their first loss and an 0-1 SCAC record. While Texas Lutheran does not claim many individual stat leaders in the country, it ranks in the top 100 of nearly all statistical categories as a team.

The Bulldogs love to take shots as they lead the conference and are 19th in the nation with more than 21 shots per game. They also have shutouts in 2-of-3 wins.

Miguel Candelario paces the Bulldogs with two goals on six shots on target. In goal, Jonathan Michael holds a 3-1 record and has 14 saves in more than 330 minutes for Texas Lutheran.

Scouting Southwestern

The Pirates come to Mayo Field in the exact opposite situation as Texas Lutheran. Southwestern entered SCAC play without a win, but knocked off the Bulldogs last weekend.

In fact, in Southwestern's victory, it scored 40 percent of its goals this season in a 2-0 win. Jake Swonke and Christian Lopez have both found the back of the net on five shots on target in 2015.

Next Up

The Gents hit the road for their first SCAC road games of the season when they take on Trinity and Schreiner next Friday and Sunday, September 25 and 27.
