Whan reaches double-digit saves, Gents lose at #18 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - For the second time this season, Gents junior goalie Rylan Whan reached double-digit saves, but Centenary College (2-6, 1-3 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) lost at #18 Trinity (6-2, 2-2 SCAC) 4-0 Friday night, September 25.

With 10 saves on 13 shots faced, Whan recorded his eighth career game with double-digit saves in 34 career appearances. Senior defender John Vazquez recorded his first career shot, when he placed a ball on target in the 58th minute.

Sophomore Kaleb Behm, who replaced Whan in goal to begin the second half, also grabbed a penalty kick by Trinity in the 51st minute. Behm finished with three saves in four shots faced in 15 minutes of work.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the fourth minute, when a Daniel Ruano shot was pushed off the crossbar by Whan. However, Derrick Horvath was there for the rebound header to put the home team up 1-0. Trinity scored a pair more goals in the first half and one more in the second for the final four-goal win.

Chad Margotta and Todd Whittaker each played in a half in goal for the shutout for the Tigers, with Whittaker grabbing the lone save.
